AGE REQUIREMENTS:
· Miss Miami Gardens: Ages 18-28 years old. Candidates must be 18 yrs. old by the date of the Miss Florida State competition in June 2026, and no older than 28 years old at the State Competition.
· Miss Miami Gardens’ Teen: Ages 13-18yrs old. Candidates must be 14yrs. old by the date of the Miss Florida’s Teen State competition in June 2026, and no older 18yrs old at the State Competition.
RESIDENCY:
· MISS MIAMI GARDENS, MISS MIAMI GARDENS’TEEN &
MISS GOLDEN GLADES:
Candidates must be a resident or enrolled on a full-time basis at an accredited college or university within the City of Miami Gardens or Opa-Locka, FL
· MISS SOUTHERN SHORES:
Open Statewide to Miss Candidates.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
· Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen
· Be a female
· Single (Not legally married)
· No legal dependents
· Meet character criteria set forth by the Miss America Organization.
· Candidates must be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Miami Gardens Scholarship Program, Inc. should she win the title. (The titleholder will enter a contract with the organization)

The 10 minute private judges interview will be conducted on the day of the competition. It is 30% of the total score. each candidate delivering a 30 second opening statement about her Community Service Initiative. Immediately following the pitch, the judges will proceed with a series of questions to learn more about the candidate. Questions are on general topics, current events, local & national news topics, items from a candidate’s Fact Sheet & CSI Essay.

Each candidate will deliver a 15 to 20 second pitch of her Community Service Initiative. Immediately following the candidate’s pitch, she will answer an On-stage Question. The question is essentially an extension of the private interview.

The Health & Fitness phase of the competition is designed to see how well the candidate maintains a lifestyle of good physical health and whether she has the sense of confidence and self-assurance needed to be a titleholder. This phase is performed in active / sportswear, not swimsuits.

Each candidate will perform a 90 second talent routine. The judges are looking for: Overall first impression, interpretive ability, technical skill, stage presence, totality of all elements including costume, music, and choreography, quality of the performance, and entertainment value.

The Evening Gown phase of competition is 20% of the total score. The judges are looking for the candidate's overall first impression, sense of confidence, walk, posture, carriage and grace, personality, stage presence, beauty and sense of attractiveness, appropriateness of the evening wear.
